Do I really need a salt system to soften my water?

Are water softeners really worth their salt?  Why can’t we condition water with a salt-free system instead?   Doesn’t a water softener make my water taste salty?  Isn’t salt bad for the environment?

Really good questions.

EcoWater System’s water softeners and refiners are definitely worth the small amount of salt for many reasons.  First of all, let’s make it clear, our units are highly efficient and designed NOT to waste salt, water, or electricity.  Without having our water treatment installed in your home, you’ll find that your water heater, dishwasher, and washer machine will corrode, leak, and fail.  Hard water is very destructive to these appliances and soft, clean water is a great way to not only maintain their integrity, but their energy efficiencies as well.

We can provide soft, conditioned water without salt.  All About Water specializes in unique membrane technologies, such as whole house reverse osmosis or nanofiltration.  Ionic exchange (the way a traditional water softener functions) and membrane technologies are the only tried and true ways to soften and condition water.  No-salt systems that treat water via magnets, electricity, de-scaling, or filter have no testing or validation by NSF or WQA.  Third party certification is truly important.  Don’t be fooled by salt-free water systems that are anything other then ionic exchange or membrane treated.

Okay, so salt isn’t sounding so awful, but you are still worried that it will make your water taste terrible.  EcoWater Systems water softeners and refiners use such a minute amount of salt, that it cannot be measured inside the home.  In fact, our refiners are NSF certified as DRINKING WATER!  Of course there are systems on the market that will make your water taste funny, so it is important you research the company.  Not sure where to start, check out Rosie on the House.

Lastly, it is important to protect our environment.  Water softeners are not as menacing as they are made out to be.  In fact, the harsh chemicals we use to wash, laundry, and clean with are more menacing then the small amount of brine that is added to our water and soil.  Did you know that water softeners considerably cut down on the usage of these cleaning supplies?  Furthermore, clean pure detergents work wonderfully with soft, clean water.  Don’t believe the hype.  In the end, water softeners and refiners are one of the greenest appliances in our homes.

Reverse Osmosis

The perfect complement to our Refiner is our reverse osmosis drinking water system.  Our exclusive line is specifically designed to treat the kind of water we have in Arizona.  Our 375 E comes with 3 filters and can accommodate special filters for extra troubled water.  The specially formulated pre and post filters provide high quality water while the semi-permeable membrane rejects the major solids in our water.  One of our many unique features is our monitor.  It measures the quality, time, and usage to determine when filters need changed or when it is time to replace the membrane.  Every time you take out a glass, the monitor will let you know when the water is great or if it is time to take care of filters.

Do I really need a water treament system?

The demand for cleaner, better tasting water is growing, but for some of us, we wonder if we really need to put water treatment into our home.

EcoWater’s line of different water treament systems can provide many benefits.  For example, with our line of reverse osmosis units, you can almost eliminate the impurities in the water your family drinks.  A water softener, on the other hand, would help reduce soap and detergent use by 50 to 75%.  That is a huge savings!  Our water conditioners will also eliminate the stains and hard water scum in the showers.  Another important reason to put water treatment in your home pertains to your health.  Our Refiner will remove the harsh chlorine in the water we bathe in.

These are just a few reasons why we really need water treatment in our homes.  Call today to learn more at 480-892-7556.

Refiner

EcoWater’s Refiner is one of our many water treatment systems.  The Refiner guarantees soft, clean water by treating and filtering the water that enters your home.

The Refiner has a wireless monitr that shows you when to add salt, if it needs servicec, how much water you’ve used, and much more.  The electronics are key to maintaining the highly-efficient memory.  Our electronics are Energy Star rated and overall, our refiner will not waste electricity, water, or salt.

The patented stratified resin bed provides a high flow rate.  Large capacity units waste a lot of water, but it is the only way to reach the desired flow rate.  Our fine mesh resin uses less water and salt while giving you the flow rate you need.

The EcoLife media in the Refiner removes the unwanted chlorine taste and odor.  This provides safer water for bathing while protecting the resin bed.    Clothes will fade less and the rubber seals and gaskets will last longer to water using appliances.

How the EcoWater Whole Home System Works

EcoWater’s whole home system provides quality water for the water you bathe in to the water you cook with.  Many people turn to the whole home system because they are tired of the unpleasant smell, taste, and feel of our water.

First, all of the water will flow through the Refiner.  This unit will soften and filter the water throughout the entire home.  This water treatment provides softer feeling skin, hair, and laundry.  It helps to eliminate the hard water staining on fixtures and glasses while helping the appliances that use water last longer and work more efficiently.

Then we take care of the taste with our ERO 375E.  This water treatment provides clean, clear, great tasting water with the ease and economy of using a tap at the sink.  No more hassle of bottled water or plasic bottles to dispose.

Soft Water’s Benefits Arizona

There are several benefits you’ll notice once your EcoWater water softener or refiner is installed.

First, as you’ve noticed, Arizona has extremely hard water that is very damaging to our skin.  Soft water solves this concern by unblocking our pores to allow our natural oils smooth and soften our skin.  Bathing in hard water leaves a residue of crud that blocks our bodies natural ability to treat itself.  We recommend going the next step with a refiner because it provides all the benefits just listed, but it also removes the damaging chlorine as well.  Chlorine is very drying to our skin and with the high levels found in our city water, it just makes good sense to remove it.

Second, imagine what this same hardness is doing to your pipes and water using appliances.  Did you know that in just 6 weeks of installing a new water heater, 1/16 of an inch rock builds up on the bottom?  What happens in a year?  What are the costs to heat through this build up?  A water softener or refiner will help maintain the integrity of your water using appliances by keeping this junk out of them in the first place.

Soft water has many benefits, contact us today to learn more at 480-892-7556.
