The new 3500 series conditioners/refiners contain an out of salt in X days feature.It is important to understand the meaning of this number, as it is an estimate of out of salt in X days and is frequently updated based on salt level in the brine tank, the salt dose used, and the average daily water use. It is not simply counting down days.

For example, if the remote states out of salt in 69 days, and the homeowner leaves the homefor three days, when he comes back it may still state out of salt in 69 days It may even get larger because the average daily gallon usage estimate may have dropped (due to lack of use). The unit recalculates the average daily gallon at midnight. Therefore, the estimated out of salt in X days is recalculated every 24 hours.
